Ficus usually has large, sizable roots. The extra peel and perlite give the roots the space they need. Added activated carbon detoxifies the roots from rot and fungal problems. Combine this with extra added horticultural sand for a denser and better draining mix and you have the perfect Ficus mix. Using the mix is easy! Start by removing as much old soil as possible. Gently squeeze the pot while holding it sideways to loosen the plant. Hold the carrots under lukewarm tap water to remove the last bits and pieces. Also be sure to remove any dead leaves still on the plant with scissors. Now your plant is ready for its fresh Ficus soil. Add a small layer of Ficusmix at the bottom of the pot. Place the plant in the pot and slowly add Ficus soil to the sides to fill it. Make sure that the point where the roots touch the plant is just below the Ficus soil. Lightly dab the Ficus mixture into the pot. Be sure to water the Ficus mixture thoroughly after repotting as this helps establish the mixture and roots. Using the mix is easy!
