Common houseplant soil - Soil Ninja
Use a Mix of:
Coconut Coir, Perlite and Worm Casting
About the Soil.Ninja Basic Mix: A general mix that is suitable for most houseplants under proper care. This mix is also a fantastic base to build on and specialize to the specific needs of your plants by adding different components.
Go from a Basic Mix to "Dirty Tricks"! With 3 core ingredients, we use the same high-quality Coconut Coir, Worm Casting and Perlite as our other mixes. These provide the three core characteristics that all potting soils should have: drainage, nutrients and aeration. Of course, some plants require different balances of these traits, and that's where specialization comes in.
Ideal for most plants: Do you have some Anthurium? Add some Zeolite and Bark to create larger air chambers for those larger roots. Are Cacti your thing? Try adding some Sand and Gravel to make a faster drying mix. You get the idea, but if you're looking for a more detailed guide on the best way to use our Basic Mix, check out our blog post where we show exactly how it works. See our Houseplant Soil Guide for more information.
Why choose our Basic Mix?
It is a high-quality potting soil packed with beneficial microfauna, suitable for the vast majority of houseplants, provided the grower is comfortable managing the plants' conditions.
