About the Terrarium Potting Soil Mix: A complete mixture for terrarium plants in terrarium environments. This mixture offers fast drainage in combination with an even moisture distribution throughout the mix, both in open and closed terrariums. A large amount of activated charcoal and zeolite prevents heavy metals, impurities, minerals and other unwanted substances from accumulating in the terrarium space. The addition of organic material from bark ensures that microfauna in the terrarium create a complete ecosystem that provides the plant with more nutrition. The sand in the mix also prevents the ground from becoming muddy after prolonged wet periods.
What type of soil to use in a terrarium: Terrariums require soil that not only drains extremely well, but is also full of purifying elements like activated charcoal, which traps any impurities that might be introduced by tap water or a plant being transplanted from a terrarium. different substrate. Otherwise, these impurities will remain permanently in the terrarium space and eventually cause problems. The soil must also retain its properties and structure under conditions of high humidity. Sand tends to stay in place in damp conditions and does not shift as it can do outdoors. If your terrarium is bioactive, there must be organic material in the mix to provide food for the life forms living in your terrarium.
Like all our Premium Mixes, this mix contains a population of positive bacteria, mycelium and microfauna in the substrate to create the pot economy that keeps your plant healthy! Enough nutrients for the first 2 months of growth are also included in each bag, along with our specialist nutrient storage component, Zeolite.
